Course Description:

The course is a general introduction to psychology, the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Subject areas to be reviewed include the history of psychology and its influence on the present, the scientific method in psychological research, biological factors that influence behavior, learning and memory, sensation and perception, motivation and emotion, consciousness, intelligence, personality, and social psychology.

Course Format: Class will include lecture, group discussion and supplemental course materials posted in Moodle. Lectures will review and expand on the information in the text. Students are responsible for learning both the lecture and textbook material.
